Atos de Fala - AdF is a festival aimed at Lecture-Performances, Video-Essays and Archive-Sculptures. Each year, AdF proposes a curatorial motto to convey a possible set of artworks. In this edition, we are highly interested in an expanded understanding of migration. We see in migration an ability to forge Otherness, blur recognitions, and make will of resettling - actions that many times happen in the very place we’ve always resided. We believe that events and relationships are the constant builders of space and Otherness. The constitution of our own space, the finding either of our place or of our transits, can be shaped through random exchanges in the social tissue as much as through our circumscribing amidst clichés that might come both from foreign expectations of what to find in our homeland as well as from our own production. These recurrent negotiations between colonial capturing and escaping plans, and between our ability to territorialize, de-territorialize and re-territorialize, operate what we call Geographies of Diaspora. The works and artists invited are actually those which, in their way, take this dialogue further. Welcome!
